INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION 

It’s not just shredding and faxing!
If you are a college student interested in pursuing a career in radio broadcasting and looking for hands-on experience in radio this is the internship for you.

Nassau Broadcasting is offering exciting internships in promotions and programming, located in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts.

Network, build your resume and gain valuable experience you won’t find in a classroom!

Flexibility is a must! Hours may vary from week-to week. Learn the inner workings of a small market radio station, providing exposure to promotions, programming and sales.

We need enthusiastic, outgoing and hard-working students who enjoy music and excel and interacting with a variety of interesting people.

Upon acceptance into program, intern will be required to complete a Nassau Broadcasting intern application and Nassau Broadcasting Liability Indemnification Agreement.


Intern responsibilities include:

Production/programming:
-learn dub and digital editing process
-voiceovers and commercial radio production
-production of sound design elements
-on air demo work
-assist on-air staff with show prep for various air shifts on air talent with board operation, phone calls & general admin support
-work with Music Director and Program Director
-maintain upkeep of studio and promotional announcements


Promotions
-assist in creating and coordinating marketing and promotional activities
-assisting at remote broadcasts, station appearances, large station events
-prepare liner cards, press releases, promotional signage
-organize, distribute and maintain inventory of station prizes, ticket giveaways and winner sheets
-assist with day to day activities with office management, special projects


Sales
-learn phone etiquette, presentation skills, writing and production of radio commercials.
-learn importance of interaction between advertisers and radio station
-experience relationship between programming, promotions and sales departments
-assemble media kits and sales proposals for client presentations -gather leads


Miscellaneous
-numerous on-going tasks for the radio stations including but not limited to:
>update station web sites, gather content
>light filing, typing, copying, data entry, updating media/listener lists
>front office reception
>station vehicle appearance/cleanliness/stocked with items
